One In 5 Parents Would Give Child A Spanking In Certain Cases

This USA Today article outlines a recent poll that found 20% of parents would use spanking for discipline in some instances.  Other behavior modification techniques including explaining or reasoning, taking away a privilege, or timeouts and grounding were favored among parents.  However, as the article points out, this survey was geared at measuring intent to discipline, not actual discipline practices.
